Accessibility Statement

Our commitment on this website, what we have done about it, where we currently fall short, and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.

Our commitment

We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people who navigate by keyboard, use a screen reader, need larger text, or prefer reduced motion.

We build ecommerce storefronts for a living, so accessibility is not an abstraction to us — inaccessible interfaces exclude customers and create legal exposure for the brands we work with. Holding our own site to the standard we recommend is the minimum.

Conformance target

We aim to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.

Our current self-assessed status is partially conformant — most of the site meets the standard, and the exceptions we know about are listed below. We say “partially” deliberately: claiming full conformance without a formal independent audit would be a claim we cannot support.

What we have implemented

  • Semantic structure — landmarks, a single H1 per page and a logical heading order, so screen readers can navigate by structure.
  • Keyboard access — interactive elements reachable and operable by keyboard, with visible focus, no keyboard traps, and menus that close on Escape.
  • Colour contrast — text and interface colours checked against the 4.5:1 threshold for body text.
  • Reduced motion — animation and transitions suppressed for visitors whose system requests prefers-reduced-motion.
  • Text alternatives — meaningful images described; decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology rather than announced as noise.
  • Responsive and zoomable — usable at 200% zoom and at narrow viewport widths without horizontal scrolling.
  • Forms — visible labels tied to inputs, and errors described in text rather than by colour alone.

Known limitations

We would rather name these than let you discover them:

  • e.g. third-party embed X does not expose accessible names — we are what you are doing about it.
  • Some older blog content may contain images without adequate text alternatives or tables without proper headers. We are correcting these as content is revised.
  • Third-party components — embedded scheduling, chat or video tools are outside our direct control. Where one creates a barrier we will either work with the vendor or replace it.

Assessment method

Our assessment combines automated testing, manual keyboard-only navigation, screen reader spot checks and contrast verification.

This is a self-assessment. It has not been independently audited or certified. If you need a formal conformance report, contact us and we will tell you honestly where we are.

Tell us about a barrier

If something on this site blocks you, we want to know. Please tell us:

  • The page address
  • What you were trying to do
  • What went wrong, and the browser or assistive technology you were using

Email contact@aqsashahzad.com or call +1 (310) 430-1227. We aim to acknowledge within 2 business days and to give you a timescale for a fix, or an alternative way to get what you needed in the meantime.

If our response does not resolve things, you can escalate to ESCALATION CONTACT / PROCESS.
