We connect Zenoti to Shopify Plus so a salon or spa sells retail and books appointments in one store, the integration many agencies turn down. Gene Juarez runs 13 locations this way, and the jump from a landing page to a Zenoti booking takes under a second.

Our team

The team behind our Shopify app development

Every app is built by dedicated specialists, not a single generalist juggling every role.

  1. Team lead

Present on every project, the team lead owns app strategy, assigns roles, and keeps delivery on track against the agreed milestones.

  2. Shopify frontend developers

They build the Polaris and App Bridge experience — the embedded admin UI and any storefront-facing screens your app needs.

  3. Shopify backend developers

Responsible for building the app from scratch on React Router and Node.js — Admin GraphQL calls, webhooks, billing logic, and ongoing maintenance.

  4. QA engineer

Tests the app against Shopify's review checklist and real store scenarios to make sure it's stable before it ever reaches a merchant.

  5. UI/UX designer

Designs intuitive, Polaris-consistent screens for your Shopify app that feel native to admin and are built to convert.

  6. Project manager

Handles communication with every stakeholder, gathers project requirements, and controls the process end to end.

Frequently asked questions.

What's the difference between a public, private, and custom Shopify app?

Public apps are listed on the Shopify App Store and installable by any merchant. Custom apps are built for one store, installed directly through the Partner Dashboard. Private/embedded apps sit inside Shopify admin using App Bridge and Polaris for a native feel.

How long does it take to build a Shopify app?

A focused single-purpose app typically takes 4 to 6 weeks. Apps with billing, multi-store support, or deeper API integrations usually run 8 to 10 weeks depending on scope.

Do you handle Shopify App Store submission and review?

Yes. We prepare listing assets, handle the technical review checklist, respond to Shopify’s review team, and manage resubmissions until the app is approved and live.

What tech stack do you use to build Shopify apps?

React Router, the framework behind Shopify’s current app package and the successor to its Remix template, paired with React, Polaris for UI, App Bridge for embedding and GraphQL for the Admin API. Node.js handles backend logic and webhooks.

Can you add billing and subscriptions to a Shopify app?

Yes. We implement Shopify’s Billing API for one-time charges, recurring subscriptions, and usage-based pricing, so your app can monetize from day one without a separate payment processor.

Can an app include custom checkout functionality?

Yes. Checkout UI extensions add fields, banners, offers and trust content to checkout, and Shopify Functions change the logic behind it: discounts, delivery and payment options, and validation rules. Extensions on the information, shipping and payment steps need Shopify Plus; the Thank you and Order status pages can be extended on every plan except Starter.

Do you build apps for Shopify Plus specifically?

Yes. Plus is where a custom app can do the most: custom apps that use Shopify Functions need Plus, and so do checkout extensions on the information, shipping and payment steps. One app can carry discount and delivery logic, validation rules, checkout banners and Thank you page offers together.

What happens after the app is launched?

Every build includes a post-launch monitoring window covering crash reports, webhook failures, and Shopify API version deprecations, with an ongoing support plan available after that.

Can you migrate or rebuild an existing Shopify app?

Yes. We commonly rebuild apps still on the deprecated Shopify CLI 2 / Ruby stack, or apps failing new API version checks, onto Shopify’s current React Router and GraphQL architecture.

Should I build a custom app or use one from the App Store?

Use an App Store app when it covers most of what you need and the gaps are cosmetic. Build a custom app when the workflow is specific to your business, when you are stacking several apps to approximate one process, or when an integration has to work exactly your way. A short scoping call usually settles it, and we will tell you if an existing app is the better buy.

Does a public app cost anything to list on the Shopify App Store?

Shopify charges a one-time $19 registration fee per Partner account. Developers keep all of their first $1,000,000 in lifetime app revenue and Shopify takes 15% above that, plus a 2.9% processing fee on billing. Custom apps for a single store are not listed and need no registration.

How much does Shopify app development cost?

Single-purpose custom apps typically start at $8,000. Public apps with billing and multi-merchant support range from $18,000 to $45,000+ depending on integrations and complexity.
