Shopify Developer, onsite in Johar Town, Lahore: Liquid themes and Shopify Plus builds for US brands.

You build the storefronts the studio ships: custom Liquid themes written from scratch, Shopify Plus features (checkout extensibility, Functions, Flow, B2B) and migrations that keep a brand’s rankings. The stores are live US businesses, and you see their numbers after launch.

About the role

Shopify Developer at a Shopify Select Partner, onsite in Lahore.

Full-time · Engineering · reports to the lead engineer.

Aqsa Shahzad Official is a Shopify Select Partner working with US DTC and B2B brands, and the studio in Johar Town is growing its engineering team. This role owns the theme layer: sections your marketing team can use without a developer, product and collection templates that hold up under a real catalogue, and the Plus-only pieces — checkout UI extensions, validation and discount Functions, Flow automations — that most agencies still install as apps.

You work directly with the lead engineer and, on most builds, with the client. Every project has a written scope before it starts, so the work is defined and the deadlines are real rather than invented on a Friday.

What you will do

The work, week to week.

Six things this role owns. The proportions shift with the projects; the standard does not.

  1. Build custom themes from Figma

Sections, blocks and templates in Liquid, JSON and modern CSS, from a designer’s file to a store that passes Core Web Vitals on a phone.

  2. Ship Shopify Plus features

Checkout UI extensions, Functions, Flow automations, B2B company accounts and price lists, Markets for international.

  3. Run migrations without losing rankings

Catalogue, customers and orders from Magento, WooCommerce or BigCommerce, with a URL-for-URL redirect map you verify.

  4. Integrate the apps that matter

Reviews, loyalty, subscriptions and support wired into the theme and the store’s events rather than left as widgets.

  5. Keep stores fast

Diagnose and fix the theme, scripts and media behind a slow LCP; measure on real devices, not only in Lighthouse.

  6. Document and hand over

Every custom part written up so the client’s team can run the store; you present the hand-over.

What you bring

What we look for, and what is a bonus.

Show us the work rather than telling us about it: a link beats a paragraph.

  1. Two or more years shipping Shopify themes

Liquid you can read and write fluently, theme architecture (sections, blocks, metafields, metaobjects), and at least one store you built from scratch.

  2. Front-end fundamentals

Semantic HTML, modern CSS (grid, container queries, logical properties), vanilla JavaScript; performance and accessibility as habits, not afterthoughts.

  3. Shopify Plus exposure

You have touched checkout extensibility, Functions or B2B, or can show you learn a platform surface quickly.

  4. Git and a code review habit

Branches, pull requests, and the ability to explain a change to someone who will maintain it.

  5. Written English that clients can read

Scopes, hand-overs and status notes go to US brands in writing; clarity matters more than vocabulary.

Nice to have: Hydrogen or Remix · Klaviyo or Postscript event wiring · Shopify POS or ERP integrations · a public GitHub or a theme in the Theme Store.

How we hire

Five steps, each of them in writing.

Two to three weeks from application to offer.

  1. Apply through the portal

Ten minutes: CV, a link to your work, a short note on why this role. Every application is read by the person you would report to, not by a filter.

  2. Written reply within five working days

Shortlisted or not, you hear back in writing. Shortlisted candidates receive a short, role-specific task on realistic material.

  3. The task, reviewed together

Two to three hours of work, then a 30-minute review where you walk us through your decisions. We are hiring for judgement as much as output.

  4. Onsite interview in Johar Town

An hour at the studio with the founder and the lead you would work with: the work, the hours, the clients, your questions.

  5. Offer in writing

Role, compensation, working hours, probation and start date, all on one page before you decide.

Applications go through this portal only. Please do not book a call through the site’s Cal.com link: that calendar is for client projects, and a booking made by an applicant is cancelled without review. Send the form below; every application receives a written update by email within five working days, and shortlisted candidates are invited to the next step from there.
