In food and drink, a Shopify store earns its keep on the second order, not the first. Coffee, snacks, tea and meal kits live on subscriptions that customers pause, skip and swap; chilled and frozen lines need their own shipping rules and delivery days; allergens and ingredients have to be on the page before anyone pays; and most brands also sell to cafés, delis and grocers at trade prices. To make this list an agency had to name food or drink clients on its own website, which we checked on 10 October 2026 for agencies serving American, British and Australian brands; where it publishes results, they are here, and where it does not, we say so. We list our own agency first and mark it as ours; every other entry draws only on that agency’s own site.
The short answer
Which Shopify agency is best for a food or drink brand? It depends on the problem you are hiring for. If the problem is a store that wins the repeat order, built on Shopify Plus for a fee fixed in writing, call us first: our work lifted True Glory Hair’s repeat purchases by 27%. For breadth, Barrel in New York lists more than thirty food and drink case studies, with published gains for McCormick and Once Upon a Farm. For subscription builds in the UK and Australia, Swanky has a page devoted to the category and a client list led by HelloFresh, Union Coffee and Pasta Evangelists. For the strongest UK numbers, Underwaterpistol reports revenue up 209% for the snack brand GOOD GOOD, and it also has two chilled and frozen retailers on Shopify Plus. In Australia, Process Creative reports revenue tripling for the drinks company Strangelove.
Key takeaways
- Ten agencies qualify: four based in the US, four in the UK and two in Australia, with Swanky also staffing an Australian team. Seven publish at least one food or drink result.
- Subscriptions are the common thread. Every strong portfolio here includes Recharge, Skio or Awtomic builds, so ask to see the cancel, skip and swap flow, not just the sign-up page.
- Two agencies state their Shopify partner level inconsistently on their own sites, so it is left out for both. Judge them on the work, which in Barrel’s case is the deepest food portfolio on this search.
Agencies based in the United States
Aqsa Shahzad Official — USA (our agency)
Best for: food and drink brands whose revenue depends on the second, third and tenth order, and that want the subscription, bundle and wholesale side built by one senior team for a price fixed in writing.
Numbers from our case studies:
- 27% more repeat purchases for True Glory Hair, whose Shopify Plus store is our build and whose Attentive retention we have run for three years. Case study
- 63% more organic traffic for CocoLash, a store we launched from nothing and gave a Subscribe & Save programme. Case study
- A 1.3-second LCP on Shopify’s own speed report for KIF Smart Refill, whose refill-bundle page lets the team edit what each delivery contains and costs. Case study
How that carries over to food and drink: subscriptions customers can pause, skip and swap, build-a-box bundles, chilled and frozen shipping profiles with set delivery days, allergens and nutrition held as structured product data, and a trade price list for cafés and grocers on Shopify Plus B2B. We have not published a food or drink case study yet; these figures come from beauty and refill brands.
Cost: agreed in writing before the deposit. Most launches and replatforms come to $40,000–$100,000, and builds with integrations $100,000–$200,000 (see the packages). Book a call to have yours scoped.
Barrel — New York
Best for: packaged-food and drinks companies that want the deepest category portfolio, including multi-brand carts that mix direct and wholesale orders.
The largest food and beverage portfolio we found, with an industry page listing more than thirty case studies across packaged food and drinks. Three publish numbers: McCormick, where ten-plus spice and sauce brands share one Shopify cart and checkout with direct and wholesale sales (gross sales up 36%, orders up 23%); Once Upon a Farm, rebuilt on Shopify Plus around a build-a-box subscription (direct sales up 80%); and the snack-bar brand Bobo’s, where new subscription routes cut churn by 16.3%. Its own pages give two different Shopify partner tiers, so neither appears here. barrelny.com
Netalico — New York and other US cities
Best for: drinks and snack brands that need subscriptions, bundles and temperature-sensitive shipping from a Plus Premier partner.
Lists itself as a Shopify Plus Premier Partner and runs a CPG food and beverage page naming subscriptions, bundles, temperature-sensitive shipping and wholesale as its focus. The functional-drink brand VYBES is credited with a 20% higher conversion rate and revenue up 90% after a new navigation, drawer cart and flavour-swap product pages; the industry page also claims subscription revenue up 188% in three months for Oatly. Explorer Cold Brew launched on Shopify in twelve weeks with a stockist locator. netalico.com
Avex — New York
Best for: regulated drinks and snack brands that need nutrition-facts templates, an age gate and subscriptions on one store.
Its page title claims Platinum Shopify Plus status. Its AriZona Beverages build is the only case on this search that documents both nutrition-facts templates and an age gate for adult drinks on one store, alongside subscription products and in-store-only items. Published results include a 75% higher conversion rate for the office-coffee supplier Coffee For Less and a 15% lift for the dessert brand Enlightened. avexdesigns.com
Electric Eye — Columbus, Ohio
Best for: brands shipping frozen or chilled food across the US, from pizza to steaks.
A stated Shopify Premier Partner with shipped-perishables clients: Giordano’s, which sends Chicago deep-dish pizza nationwide and moved to Shopify with a custom pizza-pack template before its peak season, and Golden Steer, which ships USDA Prime steaks on subscription. The case studies describe standard Shopify rather than Plus and publish no food results, but few agencies here have shipped frozen and chilled orders at this scale. electriceye.io
Agencies based in the United Kingdom
Swanky — UK and Australia
Best for: subscription and recipe-box businesses selling in the UK and Australia.
States Shopify Platinum Partner status and alone among these agencies runs a dedicated Shopify Plus food and beverage page, backed by eight case studies, most of them subscription builds. It launched HelloFresh in Japan on Shopify Plus with a custom subscription app over Recharge, which it says brought the brand’s plans forward by six months to a year; built recipe-box controls for Pasta Evangelists; and merged subscription and one-off ordering for Union Hand-Roasted Coffee. Its Australian team works with Montville Coffee in Queensland. swankyagency.com
Underwaterpistol — London
Best for: UK snack, tea and cold-chain retailers that need delivery-date pickers or international stores.
Shopify Plus partner (tier not published), and the strongest published UK food results of any agency here: the keto-friendly jam and snack brand GOOD GOOD, rebuilt on Shopify Plus with subscriptions and international stores, saw revenue up 209% and conversion up 28%; Brew Tea Co. raised mobile conversion by 15% with a Recharge subscription. It is also the agency to ask about cold chain, having moved the cheesemonger Paxton & Whitfield, with a delivery-date picker on the product page, and the frozen-fish retailer The Fish Society to Shopify Plus. underwaterpistol.com
Charle — London
Best for: better-for-you UK brands that need dietary filters, build-a-box subscriptions and stockist pages.
Describes itself as a Shopify Plus accredited agency and runs a food and drink page. Its builds include Rude Health, moved from WordPress with filters for vegan, gluten-free and kosher products; the gut-health brand Bio&Me, with a build-a-box subscription, a quiz and a stockist page; and an ongoing growth retainer for the sweet brand Candy Kittens. It publishes no food results we could read as text, so ask for them. charle.co.uk
Eastside Co — London
Best for: coffee roasters that want a separate wholesale store with trade prices behind a login.
Three coffee and drinks cases in its portfolio, no dedicated food page. The useful one is Coffee Angel in Dublin: a direct-to-consumer theme with tasting notes on product cards, cloned into a separate wholesale store with trade pricing behind a login, credited with 22% more keywords on Google’s first page. Its pages, too, name two different partner tiers, and on 10 October it was serving an expired security certificate, so check it loads cleanly before you rely on it. eastsideco.com
Agencies based in Australia
Process Creative — Sydney
Best for: Australian drinks brands that want strategy, design, build and email from one team.
Based in Redfern, with the clearest Australian drinks result: strategy, design, build and email on Shopify Plus for Strangelove, whose revenue tripled, with sessions up 38%. It also built a Shopify site for the specialty roaster Single O, with a map of coffee origins. Its Shopify Plus partner status appears in its site’s llms.txt file rather than on a visible page. processcreative.com.au
Convert Digital — Melbourne
Best for: Australian confectionery and gifting brands that plan around seasonal peaks such as Easter.
A stated Shopify Platinum Partner with one food client, but a long relationship: the chocolatier Koko Black, which it moved from Squarespace to Shopify in 2018 and redesigned on Shopify Plus ahead of Easter 2023 for seasonal gifting. No published food results. convertdigital.com.au
