The next big sales dates for online stores are Click Frenzy in Australia from Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 October 2026, Singles’ Day on Wednesday 11 November, Black Friday on Friday 27 November and Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November, followed by Christmas Day on a Friday and Boxing Day on a Saturday. This calendar runs from late October 2026 to the end of June 2027 for stores that sell in the US, the UK and Australia. Each date was checked on 23 October 2026 against a government page, the event’s own website or an established calendar, and where a holiday differs by state or nation, each one is listed separately.

Carriers close before most of December. Every last shipping day for USPS, UPS, FedEx, Royal Mail, Parcelforce, Australia Post and StarTrack is in our Christmas 2026 shipping deadlines.
Christmas and New Year 2026: who is closed, and when
Public holidays decide when carriers collect, when your support team is off and what “ships next business day” means, and in 2026 they fall differently across the three countries.
- United States. Federal holidays on Friday 25 December and Friday 1 January 2027.
- United Kingdom. England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland all have Friday 25 December, Monday 28 December as the substitute for Boxing Day, and Friday 1 January 2027. Scotland also has Monday 4 January 2027, the substitute for its 2 January holiday.
- Australia. New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, the ACT and the Northern Territory keep Saturday 26 December as Boxing Day and add Monday 28 December as an extra public holiday. South Australia does the same under the name of its Proclamation Day holiday. Tasmania is the exception: it moves Boxing Day to Monday 28 December, so Saturday 26 December is not a public holiday there.
- Australian part-day holidays. Christmas Eve from 6pm in Queensland and from 7pm in South Australia and the Northern Territory; New Year’s Eve from 7pm in South Australia and the Northern Territory. New Year’s Day falls on a Friday, so no state needs a substitute.
January to June 2027
| Date | Event |
|---|---|
| Sat 6 Feb | Lunar New Year (Global). Lunar New Year’s Day. Hong Kong’s statutory holidays around it are 6, 8 and 9 February. |
| Sun 14 Feb | Valentine’s Day (US, UK and Australia). Falls on a Sunday in 2027. |
| Sun 7 Mar | Mothering Sunday (UK). Two months before Mother’s Day in the US and Australia. |
| Mon 8 Mar | International Women’s Day (Global). |
| Wed 17 Mar | St Patrick’s Day (Northern Ireland; celebrated widely). A bank holiday in Northern Ireland only. |
| Fri 26 – Mon 29 Mar | Easter weekend (UK and Australia). UK: Good Friday everywhere; Easter Monday in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, not Scotland. Australia: Good Friday and Easter Monday everywhere; no Easter Saturday holiday in WA or Tasmania, and no Easter Sunday holiday in Tasmania. |
| Sun 9 May | Mother’s Day (US and Australia). The same Sunday in both countries in 2027, so one campaign can serve both. |
| Wed 30 Jun | End of financial year (Australia). Australia’s financial year runs 1 July to 30 June; EOFY sales build towards it. |
Dates that are not announced yet
- Free Shipping Day 2026. No announcement. The event’s website did not respond on 23 October 2026 and its last archived page dates from 2022. Some calendars give 14 December without a source; we have left it blank rather than guess.
- UK January sales. There is no official start date; each retailer sets its own.
- Evri and DPD Christmas dates. Neither had published 2026 dates on 23 October; our shipping deadlines page will add them when they do.
Planning a Shopify store around the calendar
- Work back from each date. Discounts, theme changes, landing pages and email flows for a sale should be finished and tested before its first day, not on it. Our BFCM checklist sets out that sequence for Black Friday.
- Let the store switch itself on and off. On Shopify Plus, the Launchpad app schedules a sale’s theme, discounts and product visibility to start and end at set times, so nobody has to publish at midnight.
- Treat Australia as its own season. Click Frenzy comes first, a month before Black Friday, and Boxing Day and the end of the financial year are sales events there that a US calendar leaves out.
- Use the overlaps. In 2027, Mother’s Day falls on the same Sunday in the US and Australia, while the UK’s Mothering Sunday comes two months earlier, on 7 March.
- Publish your own closing days. Tasmania, Scotland and the part-day holidays catch out a single national message about dispatch and support hours.
If the plan is in place but the store still has to carry the traffic, our BFCM 2026 readiness audit publishes the twelve checks we run before peak season, and our Shopify conversion rate optimization service tests what the sale pages do once the visitors arrive.

Holidays come from government pages: the US Office of Personnel Management, GOV.UK, and the public holiday pages of each Australian state and territory. Events come from their own websites where one exists, and otherwise from an established calendar; the dates that follow a rule (Small Business Saturday, Green Monday, Super Saturday, US Mother’s Day) were worked out from that rule. Every weekday was checked against the calendar on 23 October 2026.
